The Mudgee Classic – Bicycling Australia’s 4th Gran Fondo Cycling Event!

The fourth event in Bicycling Australia’s Gran Fondo series was officially announced in early October, the inaugural Mudgee Classic will take place on Sunday, 3 May 2020.

And talk about a flying start! Uptake for the Mudgee event has exceeded expectations with hundreds of riders signing up to experience the challenge, enjoy the roads and take in all the quintessential Aussie town has to offer.

Located just 268km or 3-hours north-west of Sydney, Mudgee is a region that offers brilliant cycling options. The event will showcase a spectacular new country course including rolling hills and a tough but rewarding climb. To the roads – and the surfaces are mixed! Make no mistake, this will be no velvety roll over smooth blacktop bitumen. Sure, part of the course is like that but riders will also experience real Aussie roads they’ll have to pedal hard over … all while taking in the breathtaking scenery and challenging climbs.

The debut Mudgee Classic is on Sunday 3 May, 2020.

Off-bike highlights will include exquisite food and the numerous rustic vineyards of the famous wine-making region.

Like the Clare and Noosa Classics the Mudgee event will feature three course options – the 170km Maxi Classic, 110km Challenge Classic and 35km Social Classic.
